Machine: System: LENOVO product: 32492RU version: ThinkPad X201 I have changed the background to several other choices of various sizes and can see the change but still cannot get the Panel back or access any applications or menus.īased on a suggestion in another thread here I went to a full screen terminal and ran the following command and got this reponse: My cursor will move to the screen edges but it will not bring up the Panel or any menus or applications. All the things that I had on my desktop (a few links to apps and some text files) are still visible on the desktop and it all looks normal other than there not being a Panel or any apparent way to get at things with the Menu button that was on the Panel. In messing around with the Panel settings I was not able to get the Menu button back on the panel, I eventually turned the panel off and now have no panel at all, only a full screen desktop with the default mint 17.2 screen.

I have no idea what caused that to happen and had not made any recent changes to the Panel or Desktop choices or settings. I recently lost the left end of the Panel and could not see the Menu button or bring up the Menu. This is a home use laptop and I (jack) am the only user on it.
